Writing on the back of the card:

A pure slice of Clonakilty town history is the former 18th century Linen Hall. Built by the Earl of Shannon in 1817, the building is now over 200 years old. In its heyday it was Munster’s largest linen hall, selling brown and bleached linen made from flax grown locally. The Linen Hall was a major town employer for up to 600 weavers. But due to levies on linen imported at the time from England the industry went into decline.
